In the late 1980's a group of Ohioans with disabilities, family members and advocates united to plan the largest conference specifically for people with disabilities ever held in Ohio. The group called itself Solidarity Ohio. The first Solidarity conference in 1991 was a huge success attracting more than 600 people with disabilities, family members and advocates. Solidarity has since grown in to Ohio's oldest and largest conference for and by people with disabilities. In 1993, Solidarity Ohio incorporated to form Disability Network of Ohio Solidarity.
